Internal Logistics Process Improvement using PDCA: A Case Study in the Automotive Sector

Abstract Background: The Plan-do-check-act (PDCA) cycle methodology for a continuous improvement project implementation aims the internal logistics upgrade, which is especially important in industrial context of component manufacturing company automotive sector. Objectives: goal to quantify gains from waste reduction based on usage PDCA as tool and optimisation milk run an assembly line sector by determining optimal time supply standardisation logistic process materials’ flow. Methods/Approach: research was conducted through observation data collection loco, involving two main phases: planning implementation. According phases cycle, analysed, tools such SIPOC matrix, stratification, 5S, visual management were implemented.
